Yesterday I passed the 28 week mark! I don’t have much more to add about the baby since my last post, but I wanted to share since 28 weeks is a pretty big milestone. Today also marks the completion of 2 weeks in the hospital.
I’ve been busy this week. Most people know I’m finishing up my MA in Human Resources Management and expect to graduate in December. The program includes a lot of condensed, week-end classes that involve going to class on a Thursday evening, all day on Friday, and all day on Saturday. Then, there is always a big project to do to be turned in a few weeks later. When you are finished, you’ve earned 1.5 credit hours. I had one such class scheduled for last week-end and, of course, with my being in here wasn’t able to go to the class. However, my instructor was very understanding of my situation, and he tape-recorded the class for me. He also provided binders full of information for all of the students. A friend of mine from school brought everything to me at the hospital, and it took an entire day just to go through the binder and copy her notes! I also have the tapes from the class to listen to. So, that has occupied much of my time this week! I hope to finish the material this week and start working on the assignment next week since it is due on 8/3, and if they were to need to do an emergency c-section, it could interfere with my getting it done if I procrastinate. The baby is still looking great on the monitor, but I cannot forget why I am here and what it could mean.
I’ve also had several visitors, which makes me feel much less isolated from the outside world. Of course, Nathan is here daily as well. Between my visitors, my school work, a project for work, and multiple daily visits from doctors and nurses, I’ve barely had time to watch movies, read books for pleasure, read magazines, or do all of the other things I thought I’d have more than enough time to do. I did start crocheting a baby blanket and have finished one book (The Host by Stephenie Meyer). And, when my visitors are here, I don’t do work either!
That about sums up my day-to-day activities thus far. These past 2 weeks have gone by surprisingly quickly for the most part!
